Overview
Protection of human rights is a central and long-standing programmatic pillar of AGRAJATTRA. Since 2006, the organization has implemented comprehensive protection interventions addressing the needs of children, adolescents, women, and other at-risk groups in both humanitarian and development settings, with particular depth in the Rohingya refugee response in Cox’s Bazar.
Key Child Protection Interventions
AGRAJATTRA has demonstrated strong technical capacity in Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) through:
- Specialized child protection case management for children aged 6–17, implemented in line with global case management guidelines
- Structured and non-structured MHPSS interventions for children and adolescents (including SEL, SAFE, YouCreate, and Khushir Khurak methodologies)
- Establishment and capacity strengthening of Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs)
- Operation of Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) and adolescent clubs in camps and host communities
- Positive parenting and caregiver support sessions to reduce protection risks and strengthen family-based care
- Referral pathway strengthening with health, legal, and psychosocial service providers
- Psychological First Aid (PFA) and trauma-informed group interventions, including EMDR-informed approaches
These interventions have been implemented in partnership with organizations such as Terre des Hommes (TDH), International Rescue Committee (IRC), Comic Relief, and others.
